UT Austin Summer High School Research Academy (HSRA)
About
The Summer High School Research Academy (HSRA), run by UT Austin's Freshman Research Initiative, places rising sophomores through seniors in active College of Natural Sciences labs for a five-week, non-residential mentored research experience across fields including genetics, neuroscience, and genome engineering. Participants earn UT Extension course credit and work in small teams mentored by undergraduates and faculty. Unlike most programs on this list, HSRA charges tuition, though need-based scholarships are available.
