George S. and Stella M. Knight Essay Contest
About
The Sons of the American Revolution's George S. and Stella M. Knight Essay Contest invites U.S. students in grades 9 through 12 to submit an original 800- to 1,200-word essay on a person, event, or ideal tied to the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the U.S. Constitution. Essays advance through local chapter, state society, and national rounds, with cash awards at each level judged on historical accuracy, clarity, and documentation. Because SAR chapters set their own submission deadlines, students should confirm the date with their nearest chapter, typically in the December-to-January range.
