About

The Rube Goldberg Machine Contest challenges teams to build an overly complex chain-reaction machine that completes a simple assigned task in at least a set number of steps, with a dedicated High School Division alongside middle school, college, and virtual divisions. Teams of up to 15 students plus a coach compete at regional qualifiers, advance to one of several national events, and ultimately the World Championship (Rube-Con). It is run by the nonprofit Rube Goldberg Institute, founded by inventor Rube Goldberg's family.
