About

The Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine's High School Summer Research Exposure Program places North Carolina students ages 16 to 18 in mentored research or shadowing experiences with WFIRM faculty for four weeks, with weekly hours set at each mentor's discretion (typically 20 to 30). Applicants submit two teacher recommendation forms and, for the in-person track, proof of immunization and a recent TB test. WFIRM separately runs a one-week virtual academy open to students ages 14 to 18 nationally and internationally.
